Kim Elizabeth Gilmore, born 13th August, 1953, grew up as a child in Mascot, and was the youngest of 5 children, coming from a working family, with two beautiful parents, three sisters and a brother.

Her Dad, Spencer, was a carpenter/joiner and specialised in picture framing, and her Mum, Melba, was an expert seamstress for an exclusive lingerie company. Kim being a “right modal” thinker, loved to be involved with the practical activities which frequently occurred around her at their home. She was often in the garage with Dad, building things, blunting saws and bending nails, from the age of 5 years. Mum taught her to sew, obviously, and to cook, and she excelled in both.

As she was the baby, Kim was the last to leave the nest at Mascot when she married in 1973. Her parents subsequently retired to their family holiday home at Currarong, which they physically built when Kim was one year old. Kim had an adventurous childhood wandering the peninsular at Currarong, north of Jervis Bay on the south coast, and loved boating, fishing, swimming and skindiving.

Kim was a Legal Secretary for 12 ½ years, prior to having two beautiful daughters, Nikki & Lee, now aged 28 & 29. When the girls were quite young Kim, having always had an interest in homes, design and building, decided to obtain her Real Estate Licence and join the work force again, as a Real Estate Salesperson. That was 25 years ago. She subsequently, was the first female Agent in the Sutherland Shire to “go out on her own” and established her own studio/office at her waterfront home on Great Turriell Bay.

Over the years Kim has renovated and built many houses, including a block of 12 units at Cronulla. She attended TAFE at night and covered interests such as her Licensing Certificate Course for Real Estate, Soft Furnishings, Pottery, Leadlight, 3 years of Home Woodwork, where she made multiple pieces of furniture for her newly build home at Lilli Pilli. Her skills are many and varied, and is commonly, and affectionately referred to by some of her friends, as “The All Singing, All Dancing, Kim Gilmore”.

Kim is recognised as an outstanding Agent in the Shire, and is widely respected for her achievements and accomplishments, single handedly.

The Year of the Rabbit has thrown a new venture, opportunity and challenge to Kim, and she is picking up the gauntlet. One new venture is the introduction and launch of Neurolex, which I am sure will be not only a success, but a life saving product for many, producing a wonderful, positive effect on their wellbeing, and helping to combat the underlying causal factors of chronic disease. Another, is one which you will no doubt be hearing about in the coming months. Stayed tuned.

Apart from being multitalented, Kim is an extremely vivacious character, and constantly touching people’s lives not just with her humour, but her generosity and willingness to help those when in need.
